How to read a HalalSpot listing

Three markers, always in the same place. We certify nothing: we say where the information comes from, and when we recorded it.

  1. The gold seal

    We contacted the body that issued the certificate, and it confirmed to us that it is valid. The seal only appears after this check.

  2. The certificate

    The document provided by the establishment, and the name of the body that issued it. You know where the information comes from.

  3. The date recorded

    The day we recorded the information. A certificate has a validity period: the date tells you whether it is recent.

The labels you will come across

Verified certificate

The establishment sent us its certificate, and the body that issued it confirmed to us that it is valid.

Certificate declared

The establishment sent us its certificate. Our check with the certifying body has not been done yet.

Declared by the brand

The brand itself states, on its website, that its restaurants are halal. We quote its statement and its source.

No seal does not mean “not halal”. The seal only shows that an extra check has been made. Many establishments simply have not taken that step yet.

When a check has been requested, the listing shows “Check in progress” until the body replies.

Every listing states the certificate provided and the body that issued it, with the approval number where available. You can check it yourself with that body. Where we have carried out the check ourselves, a “Verified” seal appears on the listing.

Yes. The basic listing is free, with no time limit and no card details, and it stays that way. Two optional paid plans complete it: featured placement, and the check of your certificate with the body that issued it.
The Pro plan, at €12.90 a month or €129 a year, places your listing in a “Featured” box at the top of results for your town and your category. It also raises your listing to three photos and shows the link to your website and one social account. Posting news belongs to the Premium plan. No commitment, cancel at any time. Every paid placement is labelled as such to visitors, in a block kept separate from the natural results.
